Behold! The Los Angeles Department has featured Hollywood star Rin Tin Tin in “The Blessings of the Animals” event of 1976 taken at the 87th Annual Tournament of Roses Parade. The Blessings of the Animals has occurred for over a century and has attracted a lot of pet owners [D.6](https://feldman.labyrinth.garden/admin/item/14244).
Who is Won Ton Ton you may ask? Won Ton Ton, was a role played by Hollywood star, Rin Tin Tin, a brown and tan German Shepherd. This film comedy highlighted the silent screen days with an original screenplay by Arnold Schulan and Cy Howard [D.227](https://feldman.labyrinth.garden/admin/item/14093). The story centers on a German Shepherd who breaks out of a dog pound and teams up with an aspiring actress and screenwriter, eventually becoming a Hollywood star (Wikipedia, 2024). Critics of the film point out that reasons for the film’s success was on the basis of, “a jumble of good jokes and bad, sloppiness, chaos and apparently any old thing that came to hand”. However enthusiasts describe the Hollywood dog star as “quite appealing and who, when he covers his ears as some dynamite is about to explode, chalks up the movie's only laugh” (Wikipedia, 2024). Starring beside him as displayed in the photos is actress Margaret Nesbitt. Despite her success as an actress, Nesbitt also serves as a volunteer and a secretary-treasurer of the LA Department of Animal Regulation [M.13](https://feldman.labyrinth.garden/admin/item/17664). To highlight more of her work, she joined the Zero Pet Population Growth Program and is working on fundraising [M.14](https://feldman.labyrinth.garden/admin/item/17665). During the parade, Won Ton Ton is seen wearing a Tiffany collar of diamonds worth a “quarter of a million dollars”. The collar contained 442 diamonds in pear shape and weighed a total of 168.79 carats [D.227](https://feldman.labyrinth.garden/admin/item/14093).
